About Achill Island Distillery
The Achill Island Distillery also known as the Drioglann Oileán Acla is located on Achill Island off the coast of Galway and Mayo.
Under the watchful eyes of the Irish American Trading Company, Achill Island Distillery began distilling at the end of July 2019. It is Ireland’s only island-based whiskey distillery.
The Achill distillery was designed by master distiller David Hynes, Director of Great Northern Distillery. Its development was supported by Údarás na Gaeltachta as well as an investment of €4 million from The Irish American Trading Company.
